Description:
10th Anniversary Edition of this absolute classic - includes bonus track and new layout.

"This album is pure black metal from beginning to ending... it's an album definitely worth listening to, if just to experience the extreme intensity. The music is dark, it's brutal, it's fast, and it will rip you to shreds." -The Whipping Post

All I have to say about "Hellig Usvart" is that it is a fantastic album. What else is there to say than that, if you like black metal in the vein of Darkthrone. "Hellig Usvart" is everything you could need for the style of black metal the project was going for. Horde's music can be best described as having a dark primitive atmosphere, with simple yet catchy guitar riffs, very dynamic drumming, and a good ammount of diversity within their album. In fact I don't see much of a need to label highlights on the album, the listener is just better off listening to the entire product. The lyrics are also for a change christian-oriented and are of course the first to pioneer the unblack movement which was a very important historical moment within all of christian metal without a doubt, but besides it's historical importance this album is just simply a fun album made by a great black metal project. In fact I'd say that the quality of Horde's music could in certain aspects match or do even better than Darkthrone did(excluding Translyvanian Hunger and their newer crusty-punk influenced stuff IMO). If you can find the original 1994 version get it(which I'm working on in fact), but this one may be worth getting too due to the bonus song on it "Mine Hearth Doth Beseech Thee (O Master)" which is a very good track to say the least.

good cd, but better as a historical item.
