Note from the band:
The "Music From Another Room" EP is a collection of songs that showcase transition. This is a bit of a different type of release for us. We usually prefer to put out music in the form of completed albums. The reason being is that our albums tend to showcase songs that were written specifically for that album. Songs written exclusively for an album tend to fit together properly. We are genuinely pleased with how this EP has turned out, but the songs on it were never intended to be released as a 6 song EP. The fate of the individual songs on this collection was always up in the air. We thought some of the songs might come out on a split CD with another band. We thought some of them might be released on vinyl. We did not know what would become of a lot of this material. As things turned out, we just decided to release all of these different songs as one collection. With the development of this collection, that has become "Music From Another Room", we have had the chance to release a small assortment of songs without our normal artistic constraints. This EP is merely a collection of different songs from different time periods. Some songs are the newest songs we have recorded, and a few are older B-Sides. The songs were written at various times in teh band's development. Some songs were written after the "Emotion is Dead" sessions. Other songs on this EP are much older. "Piano Song", for instance, is actually a song that I wrote 6 or 7 years ago. One day, I was playing the song, which was written long before the band was formed, at practice and the band decided to jam along. Everyone added their parts and their flavor to the song, and we finished it up. We thought we would release it on "Emotion is Dead", but it ended up not making the cut for the record. We figured that it would be lost and never released, but with the advent of this EP, we now have a chance to release the song. I have to say, I feel that it is a bit out of place on the EP, but I am glad that it still gets to see the light of day. Some of the other songs on this EP, like "This is the End of Your Life", and "Breathing by Wires", are brand new recordings of new songs. They were written after "Emotion is Dead" was released. We have been playing "This is the End of Your Life" live for the past 8 months or so. We are most excited about being able to release these newer songs. Thanks a lot for your support and enjoy this collection of Music From Another Room.
