This is one of this undiscovered and underappreciated gems, which was a favourite of mine for quite a few years. 20/20 Blind play a style of commercial metal which is very well-executed (they can certainly play!), lyrical and at times, extremely subtle (unusual for this genre). This subtlety and musical ability is a result of the King's X/GC influence, rather than a band who sounds like them (they don't). The lyrics are very interesting -some are worshipful, others personal, and songs like 'Do I' deal with the struggles we face, communicating the spirit/flesh dichotomy in a way which is challenging yet very encouraging. Vocalist Wallace Chase has an AMAZING voice, with tons of variety and control (check out the high notes on 80s-style power ballad Love Keeps Reaching), and brings a different emotion and delivery to each track (soothing on Never Far, aggressive on Easier Way, then veering effectively between playful and gutsy on Show Each Other Love). Tracks like Sleepyland have a Scorpions feel, and almost every track has a slightly different tone, which keeps the listener interested. I can see how this approach might not be appreciated by the straightforward metalhead, but those who enjoy variety, musicianship, class, and sincerity will find a lot to like here. The biggest issue was that this was released in 1994, when this style was massively out of favour.

This album has more in common with Kings X/Galactic Cowboys/Love War than any typical 80's hard rock... You won't find many guitar solos... Well crafted album that deserves more praise than it receives... Not sure who would right this off as typical 80s rock...
